Schema.org Markup Generator

Generate JSON-LD structured data for better search results.

Free Schema.org JSON-LD generator

Schema.org structured data is machine-readable markup that tells search engines what a page is about — a product with a price, an article with an author, a business with opening hours. Google reads it to power rich results: star ratings, FAQ dropdowns, breadcrumbs, event listings, and more. JSON-LD, a script block placed in your page HTML, is the format Google explicitly recommends over older microdata approaches.

This JSON-LD generator builds valid structured data from a form for seven common schema types: Organization, Article, Product, FAQ Page, BreadcrumbList, LocalBusiness, and Event. Pick the type, fill in the fields — product price and availability, article author and publisher, FAQ questions and answers, breadcrumb items you can reorder — and the complete script element appears in the output panel, ready to paste before the closing head or body tag. Switching between types preserves what you have already entered.

The markup is assembled entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server. After adding it to your page, run the URL through Google's Rich Results Test to confirm the markup is eligible for enhanced listings. Structured data does not guarantee a rich result, but without it you are not eligible at all.

How to generate JSON-LD structured data

  1. Select a schema type

Choose Organization, Article, Product, FAQ Page, BreadcrumbList, LocalBusiness, or Event from the Schema type dropdown.

  2. Fill in the fields for that type

Each type shows its own form, such as price, currency, and availability for Product, or author and publisher for Article. Required fields are marked with an asterisk.

  3. Add repeatable items where available

For FAQ Page and BreadcrumbList, use the Add question or Add item buttons to add entries, and the arrows to reorder breadcrumb items.

  4. Copy the JSON-LD

The script block updates live in the output panel. Click Copy JSON-LD and paste it into your page HTML, then validate with Google's Rich Results Test.

Frequently asked questions

What is JSON-LD?

JSON-LD is a way of embedding structured data in a page as a single script block of JSON, separate from the visible HTML. It is the format Google recommends for Schema.org markup because it is easy to add and maintain without touching page layout.

Where do I put JSON-LD on my page?

Inside a script element with type application/ld+json, placed anywhere in the head or body of the page. Google reads it wherever it appears, though the head is the common convention.

Does structured data improve rankings?

It is not a direct ranking factor, but it makes your pages eligible for rich results like star ratings, FAQ dropdowns, and breadcrumbs, which typically improve click-through rates from search.

How do I test my structured data?

Use Google's Rich Results Test to check eligibility for rich results, or the Schema.org validator for general syntax checking. Both accept either a URL or a pasted code snippet.

Can I put multiple schema types on one page?

Yes. A page can carry several JSON-LD blocks, for example Organization plus BreadcrumbList plus Article, as long as each block accurately describes content actually present on the page.

Does FAQ markup still show rich results in Google?

Google limited FAQ rich results in 2023 to well-known authoritative government and health websites, so most sites no longer get the dropdown display. The markup remains valid and can still help search engines understand the content.
